This is a visualization from our paper "Anticonformists at the crossroads of minority opinion or collapse" paper (Jarman, Nowak, Borkowski, Serfass, Wong & Vallacher, 2015) in JASSS. In this simulation, agents form opinions by either accepting the opinion of their neighbors (conformists) or forming the opposite opinion of their neighbors (anticonformists).
This is a computer simulation in which I modeled the evolution of cooperation (or competition; see Nowak, 2006). In this model each player, represented as the pyramids, plays an iterated prisoner's dilemma game with all the players to which it is connected. This video displays typical results in which all players' strategies (purple - cooperation, green - competition) converge into competition (green).
